Chemistry combines a demanding theoretical course with as much practical work as the timetable allows. Pupils complete over sixty experiments before their GCSE, from flame tests in Year 7 to organic synthesis in Year 11.
At A Level the department prepares a large group each year for medicine, dentistry, veterinary science and chemical engineering, with dedicated support for entrance tests and interviews.
